Join us for a performance of Hindustani classical music with bansuri (bamboo flute) artist, Deepak Ram and tabla artist, Enayet Hossain in the Golden Lotus Temple at 7:30pm on Friday, March 9, 2018. Admission is payable at the door: $20.
Deepak is an accomplished soloist performer and teacher of North Indian (Hindustani) classical music. He received his training from Sri Jeram Bhana in South Africa, the late Sri Suryakant Limaye and Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao and the celebrated flautist, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. He also studied tabla under Sri Yashwant Padhye and music theory and voice under Pandit Rajaram Shukla. He has a Masters degree in Music from Rhodes University, South Africa.
Enayet is the son and disciple of Ustad Hamid Hossain and grandson of Ustad Kader Buksh. He has accompanied Ustad Vilayat Khan, Pandit Jasraj, Shujaat Khan, Budhaditya Mukherjee, Salamat Ali Khan, Ghulam Mustafa, and Shahid Parvez, among others.
